I grew up in Queens, New York. I studied art at the High School of Art & Design in Manhattan. I went to Pratt Institute in Brooklyn ( I had the only solo show for a student my first year, and along the way I studied with Milton Glazer at his Push Pin studio in Manhattan at The School of Visual Arts, Manhattan, and with Mario Cooper ( President of The American Watercolor Society for 23 years straight) at The Arts Student League, Manhattan.
I worked with famed graphic designer Bill Giles, Illustrator James McMullin, famed photographer Pete Turner, and Jay Maisel.
I ran a mural business called Mural Mural On the Wall in LA and for 15 years painted murals, designing and painting furniture, and original decorative finishes including Trompe L 'Oeil for clients all around the country and across the pond. Many of these same clients commissioned original oil paintings that hang in homes from Florence, Italy to New York City to Auckland, New Zealand and Los Angeles/La Jolla. My clientele ranged from individuals like Janice Page, Swoozie Kurtz, John Candy to corporations like NBC and Symantec, and Merrill Lynch. Peter Norton Symantec Software Chairman and private collector commissioned a large 10' x 20' painting for his collection that is hanging in the Santa Monica offices.
My murals for NBC are still on the NBC tour. My mural work for SIR (the largest studio and equipment rental company in the country, in Hollywood, ( and now a series of paintings will be installed in their Manhattan, New York, facility)) is featured on a documentary about the music industry. I have painted and made furniture for actors, directors, producers, business people, shop owners, home owners and my work has been featured on HGTV, three times, NBC shows such as Geraldo and Leeza Gibbons, and my work has been seen in Architectural Digest, Modern Home and American Artist magazines to name a few. I am currently in a number of juried shows and participate in shows for the clubs and societies I am a member.
I am now actively working as a fine artist in most mediums including oil, acrylic and watercolor. I produce paintings for non-profit organizations such as The Progeria Foundation, The Braille Institute, The Fibromyalgia Treatment Center and The Pain Institute to help in their fund raising efforts. A painting I did for The Progeria Foundation was purchased by The Boston's Children Museum and is in their permanent collection.
I am an active member in The California Art Club, The Portrait Artists of America, The American Watercolor Society and The San Diego Watercolor Society.
